Peacefully in living faith at the Finnish Nursing Home surrounded by family on Sunday August 6, 2006 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Eero. Loving mother of Aimo (Mary) of Brampton, Airi “Irene” Rich (Robert) of Vancouver Washington, Aulis, Aila Taylor (Bill) of Sault Ste. Marie, Alan (Diana) of Maple, Anne Wood (Gary) of Waconia Minnesota, Alfret (Lorraine) of Sudbury. Predeceased by 3 children Asko, Anja and Aarre. Cherished grandmother of 28 and great grandmother of 24. Dear sister of Taimi Karppanen of Finland. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Ville, Niilo, Kaarlo, Lempi, Helmi and Otto. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends throughout Canada, United States and Europe. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday August 10, 2006 from 6-9pm. Funeral service from the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church (12 Fish Hatchery Rd) on Friday August 11, 2006 at 1pm. Mr. Leo Tanninen officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
