MARTINEAU, Thomas Ross ‘Tom’

Posted

Thomas M

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing, of Thomas Ross Martineau at the young age of 46, due to natural causes.

Tom had a great love for the outdoors. From a young age it was not uncommon for Tom to leave on his bicycle and head down to the locks for some salmon or steelhead fishing. That passion never ceased as he grew older. It was normal for Tom to be gone for days on end camping and fishing. Those who knew Tom, knew he could catch a speck in a mud puddle. A common question to Tom was what did you use to catch it? The most common answer was “a root beer tube jig”. An explanation on where to cast and how to retrieve it along with the tale of how the fish was peeling line with the “ZZZZZZZZZZZ-ZZZZZZZZZZ” of the reel. Tom was not one for keeping fish as he was most often a catch and release kind of guy. He was known for bringing a fish or two home for his Mom Ellen for dinner. With Tom gone the lakes, rivers, and creeks are a safer place for fish. They will be a lonelier place without his presence. Tight lines Tom.  The fish in heaven don’t stand a chance now. ZZZZZZZZZ-ZZZZZZZZZ.

Loved father of Marija Martineau.
