It is with broken hearts that the family regrets to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and great uncle, with his family by his side, on Monday, November 2, 2020. He was reunited with his parents Pietruzza and Albert Marrelli. Loving soulmate and best friend of Yolanda (Cuglietta) for 58 years. Father of Albert (Anita), Joe (Jan) and Rick (Jessica). Loving Grandfather of four. He is survived by his sisters Mary Alfano (Enzo), Lena Brogno (late John) and Gina Chouinard (Gilles). Son-in-law of the late Giuseppe and the late Maria Cuglietta. Brother-in-law of Rosa Rosella (Luigi), late Emma Caicco (Frank), Connie Rizzo (Orlando), Teresa Brunetti (Frank) and Gus Cuglietta (Mary). Half brother-in-law of Gino Cuglietta (Tanya) and Gesella Cresta (Carmen). Step-brother-in-law of Ines Caputo (late Orlando). Uncle of 28 and great uncle of many. Carmen was born on October 15, 1935 in Aiello Calabro, Italy. He came to Canada in 1951 where he started to work at Algoma Steel. For many years he was part owner of Alfano Bros. In 1968, Carmen and a partner opened the Water Tower Texaco Gas Station. His next journey had him in Echo Bay, when he and Yolanda opened the Country Place Tavern for five years. As that door closed, another one opened at the Canadian Motor Hotel and then the Caswell Motor Inn as well. Anyone that knew Carmen, knows how hard he worked to provide for his family. He lived and breathed the Canadian. From the morning coffee group to his Friday night card group, Carmen was always up for anything. He leaves behind many memories with his long-time friend Dr. Apostle. The family would like to thank his Friday night card group for coming to the house to play cards when it was too hard for Carmen to get around. He was a very proud Coach and sponsor of many team sports. His bowling teams travelled all over and won numerous championships. Carmen loved his hunt camp on St. Joseph Island just as much as the Canadian and was always torn - never knowing where to spend his time come hunting season.
