Passed away peacefully with his beloved daughters by his side while at the SAH, at the young age of 65. Will be forever loved and missed by his daughters Kristen Markie and Nancy Romani (Mike). Predeceased by his parents William and Flossie Markie. Loving brother of Gwen, Marg (the late Al), Jim, Doug (Teresa), Bill (Debbie), Ed, Cheryl (Ralph), Jerry, Bonnie (Bob), Ward (Brenda) and Jane (Pat). Fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former co-workers. Special friend of Ann and Craig.
Fred was very proud to be born and raised in Nova Scotia. He never forgot his East Coast roots. He visited often and was always glad to have fresh seafood. Fred loved to laugh and joke around with others. He was a long-time meat cutter and was passionate about his trade. He also enjoyed foraging for wild mushrooms and was knowledgeable about living off the land. Fred was friendly with everyone and had a caring spirit. We will forever miss his laughter and love.
The family wishes to thank the staff at SAH for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
Per Fred’s wishes he will be taken back to his Nova Scotia home at a later date.
