It is with deep sadness that we announce that on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the age of 29, our son, brother, cousin, and best friend was called to be by his mother’s side.

Jarret will forever be remembered for his smile, and a laugh that would brighten even the darkest of rooms. Predeceased by his mother Terri-Lynn and leaving behind his father, Carl and older brother, Michael, who will carry on his legacy of kindness and servitude with passion and will keep watch over his little “Lucy”. He will be dearly missed by his Uncle Jim and Aunty Chris, and especially by his cousins Jessica (Daniel), Jennifer (Ryan), and Ryan, along with all the boys that called him Uncle Jarret. He will be fondly remembered by Great-Uncle Les (Sue) and Great-Aunty Linda. He will never be forgotten by Uncle Ted (Diane), Aunty Suzy and Uncle Tom, Uncle Palmer, along with cousins Emily (Brandyn), Alex (Morgan), and Adrian (Stephanie), Aunty Lolita and cousins Cory (Stephanie) and Dylan (Portia).

Jarret always held a special place in the hearts of all those who knew him, but especially the MacLean and Marcoux clans, who have always been more family than friend. Godparents Uncle Rob and Aunty Deb, Aunty Karen, Uncle Billy-Joe and Aunty Lee-Ann, Uncle Bill and Aunty Terry and ‘cousins’ Kyle (Rachel), Cody (Jamie), Montana and Sydney, BJ, Mac and Avery – will all cherish the many memories made with Jarret throughout the years, all of which involve that big smile and kind soul.

There were many who called Jarret friend, but his legacy will be especially carried out through Luke Buck, who Jarret was lucky to call one of his best friends in life. There are many more, as Jarret made quick friends with those he came into contact with, and we ask that you keep his memory alive by sharing your stories with each other and sharing your smiles.

Jarret proudly served with the 33rd Service Battalion of the Canadian Army Reserves for nearly 10 years, and we wish to thank those who got to know and work alongside him. More recently, Jarret had become a proud and dedicated member of the Due North family locally – he leaves behind his coworkers, all of whom he cared about deeply, but especially Zach – thank you for the quick bond you formed.

A private service for immediate family is being held at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario - 705-759-2522). A celebration of life is being planned for the summer months, date to be announced. If you wish, donations may be made (payable by cheque or online) in his memory to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Mental Health and Addictions Fund.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Maniacco family.
