MAJOR, Roscoe Willis (Ross, Roger, Elvis) –Peacefully at the Cedarwood Lodge on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021, at the age of 84. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Evelyn Major (nee Cameron). Ross was the youngest of six children. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters Gerald (Louise), Daisy Campbell (late Norman), Harriet Bernard (late Ellsworth), Frank Jr. (late Theresa) and Thomas. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Ross was born on Prince Edward Island and was always very proud of his P.E.I heritage. If it came from P.E.I, it was special. He was fond of children and pets and made a fuss over all of them. He enjoyed music, Tim Horton’s coffee and chatting with friends at the malls when he was able to get out on his own, usually pushing a grocery cart or using his walker. He will be remembered by many folks for being a Senator’s hockey fan or sporting a Coca Cola t-shirt, but most of all for his “peace” sign necklace and his polite and caring demeanour.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Cedarwood Lodge for their excellent care and compassion in making Ross’ last two years very special. He was truly happy there. Special thanks to Ross’ good friend Ray Stortini for his visits and friendships – the cups of Tim Hortons coffee were great!

Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) with Reverend Holly Klemmensen officiating. Inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society, Soup Kitchen or St. Vincent DePaul would be greatly appreciated by the family. www.northwoodfuneral.com
