MAIONE, Joseph

It is with the greatest sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) Maione in his 55th year. Cherished son of Maria and the late Pasquale. He was taken from us on Friday, April 28, 2017, the day that commemorates Fallen Workers like his father who passed away 45 years ago. Much loved brother of Emilia, twin sister Ivana Smith (Ian) and Peter (Carmela). Super proud uncle of his precious niece Kimberly (friend Brandon Guzzo). Grandson of the late Giuseppe and Emilia Maione and the late Scipione and Maddalena Provenzano. Nephew, cousin and friend to many that held a special place in his heart. Joe was committed to many local charities and gave with all his heart, never asking anything in return. He was a devoted St. Mary’s Knight who truly believed and lived the values taught by the Basilian Fathers. His loss has left a huge void in our lives, but his cherished memory is forever in our hearts. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 5 – 8 pm. Funeral service to be held in the chapel on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the St. Mary’s College Alumni Association, Sault Area Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
