MAILHOT, Kathleen “Elaine”

Kathleen ELAINE Mailhot was born on 28 December, 1950, and died on 16 December, 2023.

She was the daughter of Gerald and Claire Mailhot of Montreal, Quebec; and the sister of Fran (Eric) with whom she shared a life-long connection; the adoring mother of Kristian Mailhot-Montgrain (Kelsie), and Natalie Mailhot-Montgrain (Tyler); and she was also blessed with too many close friends and fine companions to list here.

In a word, she was effulgent... she shone brightly in our lives, emanating joy and goodness. She was a person of grace, beauty, intelligence and curiosity. She was described as thoughtful, caring and giving. Her enthusiasm for life-long learning was well supported by her extraordinary memory. Elaine was unfailingly loyal to her friends and family, bolstering love, confidence, and joie de vivre to all who were lucky to have known her. She had a reverence for Nature, she loved to garden, and she protected our shared environment to the best of her abilities through grassroot movements. She was kind and strong, a true friend; and she will be remembered warmly by many. Words do fail to describe the value of her life; but she was beloved and her spirit will live on forever in our lives.

A come-and-go celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 23rd

from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Riverwalk, 969 Queen Street East, Sault Ste. Marie.

Necrologie d’Elaine Mailhot
