Peacefully at the Plummer Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth MacKay. Loving father of Judy Boucher (Bill) and JoAnne Hamel (Bob Devoe). Proud grandfather of Laurie Hicks (Dan), David Boucher (Joanne), Paula Rooney (Aarron Low), Ryan Hamel and Nikki Hamel. Great grandfather of 6 and great great grandfather of 2. Predeceased by his brothers Mel (late Velma), Douglas (late Thelma) and Howard (late Mona) and by his sister Glenna Wright (Chuck). He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Ellis was a WWII Air Force Veteran. He was a well known businessman with his brother and partner Doug MacKay, starting with MacKay Bros. Body Shop then Ziebart Rust Proofing. He was an avid all-season outdoorsman with a special love of fishing, hunting and boating. He enjoyed many years at his Haviland Bay cottage with his many close friends and family, playing shuffleboard, sitting on his verandah watching sunsets and enjoying a cross-word puzzle. Papa K’s pancake breakfasts were a delight for all his grandkids. His thoughtful demeanor and magnetic smile warmed all our lives. “Yaba Daba Doo” Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Saturday, January 27, 2007 from 12 pm until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2 pm.
