Mary Ellen had 9 grandchildren: Leslie Sherratt wife Margaret; Denise Coutts partner Rob Boyd and the late Dennis Sherratt; Debbie, Sandy and Cathy Hooper. Much loved and cherished grandma of: Helen Walkerley friend Brian; Jennifer Walkerley-Chapman husband Stephen and Luke Walkerely wife Rochelle. the special great nana of Samuel and Sara Eastman (Walkerely), Harley and Alice Chapman. Great nana of Brandon, Colin, Aaron and Mitchell Sherratt;

and early adult years in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, then resided in Toronto for 50 years, moved up to be near her Northern family in Sault Ste. Marie years ago and resided here until her passing. Mary Ellen had a hard life
with many ups and downs and is finally at peace and celebrating with her loved ones who went before her. Her surviving family is devastated with her passing but we know the next battle she had to face was one too hard for her to overcome. She did the right thing by surrendering and going with God to the place where we hope she finally finds happiness. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at 631
MacDonald Avenue, Family Room - Heritage Place (west door). There will be flowers and a black ribbon marking the entrance door. In lieu of flowers or donations the family of Mary Ellen asks that you hug a loved one and tell
them how much they mean to you today. Don't wait until they are no longer with you, you cannot get that time back. Love your family and pay it forward. Thank you to the ER staff and to Dr. McAllister for taking such
good care of her. The family would like to thank the 6th floor nursing staff for the care, compassion, support and love they gave to Mary Ellen and her family. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by
the moments that take our breath away. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758).
