The family of Gary Wayne MacDonald regrets to announce his passing on Sunday, February 24, 2019 after a long battle with organ failure. Gary was the youngest of two brothers born to Joyce and Fraser MacDonald on July 17,1952.  Gary is survived by one son, John Paul, his father Fraser MacDonald and sister-in-law Christiane Leiwe.  He is predeceased by his mother Joyce and brother Robert.  Gary graduated from Sir James Dunn and worked for many years with Charterways as a driver and later as a manager.  He spent a number of years as a bus driver in California where he married Sharon Bliss and where John Paul was born.  He then returned home and worked for Sutherland call centre.  He loved computers and helping others with computer problems.  Gary loved to sing and was a part of the Sir James Dunn choir.  He also loved to hunt in his younger years and spending summers on Browns Island at the family cottage.  Gary was an avid Mason of Algoma Lodge and loved learning about Masonic history.  He also loved helping to bring in new members but illness prevented him from becoming Master of Lodge.  He was also a member of Shriners and Royal Arch.  Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home -  Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 1 pm until 2:30 pm.  Funeral service to take place in the chapel at 3 pm. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque) to SAH Renal Dialysis or charity of choice would be appreciated.  Many thanks to all the doctors and nurses of the Sault Area Hospital who he admired for their help.
