March 26, 1956 - March 8, 2024

We are heartbroken to announce her peaceful passing at the Sault Area Hospital with her beloved partner Robert Longarini by her side.

Loving mother of Aliette Marin, Roger Marin and Michael Chouinard (Tia). Proud Grandmother of Joseph, Justice, Nathan, Zoey and Zaida. Great Grandmother of Talon. Beloved daughter of the late James Alexander MacDonald and Florida Marie Gionette. Dear sister of Debbie (late Ron), Richard (Marina), Peter (late Donna), Paul (Joan) and Terry (Lynn). Sister-in law of Richard Longarini. Lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. A special thank you to her cousin Wally Abernot (Kim) for always listening and being there for her like a big brother and it meant the world to her. Also a big thank you to Dr. Rassouli, Dr. Shehata, Dr. Bishop, Dr. Bowen, Dr. Buehner, Dr. Spadafora, Dr. Reich, Dr. Di Fabio, Dr. Apostle and all nurse and staff at the Cancer Clinic for their care and support. A very special thank you to Home Care nurse Kim Timmerman for keeping her spirits up we do not know what we would have done without you, pharmacist Adele for being so good to her and keeping that smile on her face. Thank you to the Cancer Society who were there when her help was needed. Diane fought a courageous battle of lung cancer for 9 years. She is now reunited with her fur babies Princess, Pandy, Bandit and MiMi who were her pride and joy. Diane had a passion for cooking, she loved camping and outdoors at Harmony Beach with all of her friends.

As per Diane's request there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. -705-759-2522). Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Sault Ste Marie Humane Society would be appreciated. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the MacDonald family.
