April 23, 1945 – November 30, 2021

On Tuesday, November 30th, Stuart’s long struggle ended. With his wife of 56 years and his best friend, Marilyn, by his side, Stuart passed away. He was the beloved son of the late Shirley and Bill Johnson. He was the proud father of Murray MacBeth (Kim) and Mike MacBeth (Pam). Grandfather of Kellen and Erin and four grand puppies. Brother of Roberta Speers (Ken), Steve Johnson, Laurie Jacques (Rick) and the late Lynn. Stuart will be remembered by his many cousins and friends, and best friends Art and Jean Lee and Steve and Lynn Lawrence. Stuart fondly remembered his time spent as his parent’s cottage on Echo Lake and the many backyard gatherings at his parent’s home in the Sault. He was always ready to help others and was known for his keen sense of humour that always made you think before laughing. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Jospeh Hospice in Sarnia for their exceptional care of Stuart in his last days. As per Stuart’s request, there will not be a funeral but a small celebration of life will be held in Sault Ste. Marie (to be announced at a later date). His ashes will be scattered by Marilyn and family privately according to his wishes. Stuart and Marilyn request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Twinkie Foundation (thetwinkiefoundation.ca) or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Life Transitions Burial and Cremation Service Inc. in Chatham, Ontario.
