Died at her home on Sunday, December 29, 2019. Loving wife of Carl Lutes (married November 22, 1950) and loving mother of Graham Lutes. Sister of the late Glenna (late Stuart) Peterson, late Orville (Rosella) Harrison, Audrey (late Fred) Gibbs, late Lloyd (Rita) Harrison, and Barbara (Roger) Calam. Sister-in-law of the late Ronald Lutes, the late George and Audrey Crowe, and the late Ben and Pauline Evans. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Grant and Emma Harrison and daughter-in-law of the late Greg and Mary Lutes.
Elma was born on November 12, 1924 on Cockburn Island, Ontario. Her family moved to Sault Ste. Marie in 1932. She worked at the Ferry Docks in early years and for many years as a bookkeeper at the Soo Pee Wee Arena. Her favorite place was the family camp at Goulais Bay where she enjoyed time with friends and family for the past 60 years.
A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. A celebration of Elma's life at the family camp at Goulais Bay will be announced at a later date. At Elma's request, donations in her memory may be made to ARCH Hospice or a charity of your choice.
