It is with sadness that we announce the death of Pauline Luoma (nee Carriere) of Echo Bay, ON in her 83rd year. Pauline passed away peacefully at ARCH with her family at her side on Saturday, October 1st, 2011. She was the loving wife and partner of Jack for nearly 42 years. Pauline’s daughters, Janet Wright and Susan Chartrand and her husband Jim will miss their cherished Mum and best friend. Her grandchildren, Brendan Wright and his wife Blair, Terry Wright and his partner Jenn Welsh, Pamela Rayment and her husband Jeremy and Patricia Pretty and her partner Andy Rennison brought her great joy and friendship from the moment each was born. She dearly loved her precious great-grandchildren, Logan Rayment and Chloe Wright and had great fun playing with them this summer at the family reunion. Pauline will be greatly missed by her sisters Gerry Dunlop, Jackie Turcotte (Ray) and Jeanine Beedle and her sister-in-law Irma Carriere. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who always enjoyed spending time with their Aunt Pauline. She also leaves numerous friends with fond memories. She was predeceased by her parents, Max and Colombe Carriere and her siblings, Paul Carriere, John Carriere, Armand Carriere, Rose Rouse and Maurice Carriere. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 7 – 9 pm. A celebration of Pauline’s life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 1 pm. Rev. Patrick McManus officiating. Our family would like to thank Drs Beck, Bignell and Tull, the staff at Sault Area Hospital (Emerg and 1B), Drs Spadafora, Buehner and Lee, the staff at the Algoma Cancer Centre and the staff from the CCAC. You all provided such loving care and understanding for Pauline during her illness. We extend a special thank you to everyone at ARCH. Your dedication and compassion sustained us all during her final days. Donations in Pauline’s memory can be made to ARCH (Algoma Residential Community Hospice).
