Ended his life journey on March 2, 2008 in his 83rd year at the SAH Plummer Site. Immigrated to Canada July 31, 1947. Beloved husband of Helly for 57 years. Son of the late Peeter and Emilie Lubek of Estonia. Predeceased by brother Hendrik Lubik and sister Hilja. Survived by brother Peeter Luubek and family and Hendrik’s family in Estonia. Ants is also survived by relatives and friends in Estonia, Australia, Canada and the U.S.A. In 1946 Ants studied Veterinary medicine at Baltic University in Germany and in 1960 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical and Chemical Engineering at the University of Toronto. In 1948 he began work at Algoma Steel until he retired in December of 1983. Mr. Lubek was active for many years with the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association and also with the Estonian Association. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, March 7, 2008 from 11 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Jouko Jyrkama officiating.
