LONGARINI, Earl (Orlando)

Posted

It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of a beloved husband, father and grandfather at the General Hospital on Monday, November 3, 2003 with his wife by his side. Earl had a lengthy illness and hospitalization. He suffered much especially during the last eight months but he fought hard and complained so little. He had so much inner strength and courage and always managed to have a pleasant word and a smile for everyone. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by everyone. Earl was born in Sault Ste. Marie on April 11, 1921 to the late Pietro and Luisa Longarini. Beloved husband, best friend and soul mate of Kathy for 32 years and also husband of the late Norma (Pianosi). Beloved brother of the late Ines Giuliani (Erzi). Loving father of Peter John Longarini (Mary Ellen Boyle) of Kingston, Ontario and Louise Anne Longarini (Bill Stewart) of Ottawa, Ontario. Much loved grandpa of Andrea Longarini of Toronto; Sean and Sheena Neel of Ottawa and Laura Longarini of Kingston. Dearly loved son-in-law of the late Cecile Cook who predeceased him in January 2003. Loved and respected brother-in-law of Len (Earl’s buddy) and Hazel Webb; Anne Marie Roussain of Lethbridge, Alberta; Larry Webb of Kitchener, Ontario; George and Delia Webb of Bruce Mines and the late Shirley Catling, also Cecilia Atkinson (Graydy) of St. Catharines, and Sam Webb (Wilma) of Kelowna, B.C. Dear cousin of Dora Ricciatti (late Gene). Best friend of Mary DeCourcy (late Ernie). Also survived by many nieces and nephews who respected and admired him. Much loved adopted special “Papa Earl’ of Bailey McKiel (aged 8) of Lethbridge, Alberta. Earl was the local registrar of the Supreme Court of Ontario for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1985. At Earl’s request a private family funeral was held at the O’Sullivan Donnelly Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8th with Rev. B.J. Burns of Precious Blood Cathedral officiating. Earl’s cremated remains will be interred in the Longarini family plot at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations to the Sault Area Hospital Renal Dialysis Unit, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Miss me, but let me go
When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little – but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared;
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take,
And each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan
A step on the road to home.
Miss me, but let me go.
