With great sadness the family announces the death of Mr. James H. LeBlanc, age 84, of Blind River on Monday, July 9 at Golden Birches Terrace in Blind River. Mr. LeBlanc was predeceased by his beloved wife Pauline and daughter Suzanne Denis, husband Berthier, of Blind River. Survived by children Diane LeBlanc-James, husband Kelly, of Blind River; Wayne LeBlanc, wife Tammy, of Cambridge; and Marcel LeBlanc, wife Bonnie, of Edmonton. Also survived by sisters Simone Everitt, husband Curly, and Ernestine Desforges, husband Adelore, of Blind River. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Pauli-Ann James of Blind River, Nancy Degagne, husband Bob, of Iron Bridge; Kathina Rowland, husband Dallas, of Brooks, Alberta; Berthier Denis, friend Suzanne McDonald, of Leamington; Jamie Denis, wife Kristie, of Red Deer, Alberta; and by Wayne LeBlanc Jr., wife Shari; Norman LeBlanc; Teresa Hussey, husband Terry; Melanie Hesch, husband Terry; and Christopher Dawley, all of Cambridge, Ontario. Mr. LeBlanc was loved by numerous great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Jim LeBlanc proudly served in the Canadian Merchant Marine during World War II and was a member of Branch 189 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Blind River for many years. Special thanks to Dr. Mary Shamas of Blind River for her many years of care for Mr. LeBlanc, and to the staff at Golden Birches Terrace for their wonderful care, kindness and compassion. A memorial service for Jim LeBlanc will be held at MENARD FUNERAL HOME in Blind River on Wednesday, July 11th, beginning at 11 a.m., with Father Jim Ketzler officiating. Mr. LeBlanc's ashes will be interred with his wife in Hillside Cemetery in Blind River. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Branch 189 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
