It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gloria Lay (nee Sweeney) at the Sault Area Hospital (General Site) on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the age of 67 years. Best friend of Carol Quesnel and Velma McClelland. Loving mother of Jeanette Murphy (Matthew), Theresa (Ed) and Gregory Lay. Grandmother of Christopher, Stephanie and Chelsea. Great grandmother of Ivan. Predeceased by her parents Angeline and Thomas Sweeney. Sister of Rose (Bev), John (Pat), Anna, Raymond (Posie), Danny (Jane), Allen, Brian (Sue), Michael (Lynda) Sweeney, Louise Jean (late Bob) and the late Bob (Jean) Sweeney and Mary McMinn (Gary). Aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Special friend to Rick, Gloria, Daryl and children. Foster mother to many. Friends may call at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Garden River, Friday, November 13th from 5-7pm. Funeral Mass at 7pm with Rev. Lawrence Maduewesi officiating.
