On February 24, 2005, at the age of 72, Clara Jean left this world the same way she lived her life, surrounded by the people she loved the most, her husband, children, and grandchildren. Clara Jean was the loving wife and walking partner of Ron Laplante for 45 years (late Paul Nelson). She was the devoted mother and cherished friend of Brian Nelson (Diane), Brenda Scornaiencki (Tony), Chris Nelson (Lori), and Linda Proulx (Donald). She will be forever remembered and adored by her grandchildren, Krista Morgenstern (Mark), Tricia, Mark and Paula Scornaiencki, Glynn Nelson (Sarah), Phillip Nelson, Sarah and Kyle Proulx, and Matthew, Michael and Andrew Nelson. She was a gentle and caring Great Nana to Hanna Scornaiencki, Megan and Adam Morgenstern. Loving daughter of the late Sarah and Glynn Rains and daughter in law of the late Ernie and Jenni Laplante. Sister of Orrell Rains (late Emily), Gordy Rains (Jo), and Roberta Boyer (late Claude). At Clara Jean's request a small, private celebration was held in her honour. Clara Jean was a talented artist who loved many things in life including her dogs, going for long walks, spending time at camp on St. Joe's Island, and of course her chocolate and ice cream. At the very top of that list was her large and loving family. Her love and her laughter will live on in our hearts forever.
