September 10th, 1927 - April 20th, 2024

Beatrice Juliette Lamour peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones, on April 20th, 2024 in her 97th year.

Born in Blind River, Ontario, in 1927 to Harry and Sophie Miron, Beatrice was one of 14 siblings in her tight-knit French Canadian family.

During the war years, Beatrice met her beloved husband Jens, who had returned to Canada from overseas service in 1946. They married, and in 1948, they began their family, welcoming three children: Robert, Judy, and Kevin. Their journey together led them from Blind River to Sault Ste. Marie, where they shared 77 years of marriage.

While Beatrice worked with the Sault Star, her true vocation was caring for her family.

Her name, Beatrice, meaning "bringer of joy," captured her spirit. She devoted herself to ensuring the well-being and comfort of her family, including grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her home baking and warm hospitality were cherished by all who visited, especially the youngest members of her ever-expanding family.

Beatrice found joy in spending time with Jens at their camp on Lake Duborne, Blind River. She played a central role in her extended family, enriching countless social gatherings and family reunions with laughter, cherished memories, music, and delicious food.

Beatrice is survived by her loving husband, Jens, and children: Robert Lamour (Janice), Judy Leboeuf (late Roland (Pit) ), and Kevin Lamour (Annette). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christopher Lamour, Lisa Harvey (Kelly), Matthew Leboeuf (Ashley), Sarah Clinton (Zeb), Juliette Lamour (Kaiden), and Sophie Lamour. Her great-grandchildren include Laura Di Maria-Lamour, Abbie Clinton, Nicholas Leboeuf, Noah Di Maria-Lamour, Eva Harvey, and Maddy Clinton.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the compassionate individuals who assisted with Beatrice’s care in her later years. Special appreciation is reserved for Barb MacKinnon, Jason Richards, Keith Printess, Liz Jin, Cherice Carew, John Gantalao, Carole Gallant, Alana Weiss, Katrina Reed, Dr. Giunti, Dr. Rossi, Marcy Calvano, Laura Moss and Jeremy Paquin, whose dedication and kindness made a significant difference.

The family would also like to acknowledge her many siblings and in-laws, nieces and nephews that meant so much to her.

Beatrice is survived by her siblings Xavier Miron (Diane), Frances St. Pierre (late Don), Rudy Miron (Maxine), Carole Giguere (late Norm). She was pre-deceased by Romain Cyr (late Marie), Gladys Jensen (late Fred), Harry Miron Jr., Clarence Miron (late Betty-Anne), Clare Jacques (late Isadore), Alice Bernier (late Raymond), Blanche St. Pierre (late Fred), Teddy Miron (late Gloria), Freddie Miron (Helen).
