December 8, 1945 – March 9, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna. Daughter of the late Grace and Ted Reid. Wife of the late Art Lambert. Sister of Shirley Lapish (Jim), the late Ina Pitre (late Jocko), Roberta Reid, Margie Schryer (Joe), late Carol Reid, Ted Reid (Carol), late Kelly Reid, late Joseph Reid, Jeanie Lapish (Wes) and special friend to Barb, Joanne, Eliza and Danny.

For 33 years Donna was a teacher and loved her profession. You would often hear her speak of the students she had taught. Donna didn’t have children of her own, but she was the best aunt to all her many nieces and nephews. She loved it whenever they stopped at her place to visit. She was a beacon of light in a dark room; always a cheerful smile and welcoming greeting to anyone she met. She was the most thoughtful and giving person you’d ever want to meet.

Her love for gardening was apparent when you walked into her yard; beautiful flowerbeds and fountains adorned the landscape. Donna was an avid bird watcher; one would see bird feeders and birdbaths scattered amongst her gardens, it was so beautiful to view. She also did a lot of stained glass which was used in walking stones in her gardens, as well as window ornaments. We each have some of the work she did; given as gifts. Her energy was endless, always tending to her gardens and feathered friends. Her presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Donna; love from all the people that had the pleasure of knowing you.

As per Donna’s request a private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to the North Shore Health Network (NSHN) - Matthews Site or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E., 705-759-2522).
