LaHAYE, Thomas G.

Thomas G. LaHaye, age 81, of Geneva, IL passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was born February 6, 1936, in Sault Sainte Marie, Canada, the son of Lawrence and Ann (Tkach) LaHaye. Tom received his Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technical University and worked in the paper and wood product industry for many years. He eventually became General Manager for US Gypsum Wood Fiber Division. Tom was an avid hunter and enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a member of Knights of Columbus. Tom was very active in Habitat for Humanity taking part in the building of many homes around the country. He found his greatest joy in being with his family, particularly making memories with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Judith (Graham); sons Michael (Lorrie) of New Mexico, Christopher (Linda) of Vancouver, Washington and Andrew (Jennifer) of Geneva; grandchildren Michael, Josephine, Andrew, Sophia, Olivia, Kylie and Matthew; great grandchildren Madison and Christian; brothers Andrew (Marguerite), Lawrence (Doris) and Garard (Barbara); sister Maryann (Dave) Elliot; and many dear nieces, nephews and friends. Tom is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral prayers for Tom will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10:15 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva, IL proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, IL for celebration of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, Father Jonathan Bakkelund, celebrant. Burial will be private at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Ontario, Canada. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 25 from 9:00 am until the time of the prayers at Malone Funeral Home.
