Posted

Fred was born September 9, 1923 in Horschowitz, Czechoslovakia. In the early morning of Saturday, March 26, 2005, our dear Husband, Dad, Opi, Uncle, Brother-in-law, and Friend, passed away suddenly, yet peacefully. He left behind his beloved sweetheart of 54 years, his wife Theresa, his children Dietmar, Ursula, Chris, Heidi, Eric and Curt and their beloved spouses, Sandi, Pat, Elizabeth, Steve, Lucy, and Yuri, his grandchildren, Marcy, Joel and Stephanie, Matt and Jenna, Tia, Zoe and Kaylee, and his great grandson, Joshua. Dad, Opi, you came to this great country of Canada to make a better life for you and your family. You came with nothing, yet gave so much. Your family meant everything to you and it showed. You lived, worked and sacrificed for us. You brought joy and laughter and instilled values, insights and great bits of wisdom. You gave us a strong foundation with a steadfast love that supported us throughout years of joy and challenges. You were never short on advice, and opinions. You loved and cared so much that you wrote your life experiences and history for us and our children to have. Dad, Opi, we honor you and we will miss you greatly, but the memories of you will always keep us close. We love you dearly and we will forever be grateful for a humble, yet great man who gave so much and touched the lives of many. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 30th at 1:30 pm at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations will be graciously accepted by the BC Diabetes Association, #204 - 1755 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC V1Y 5V5. In living memory of Fred Kutschera, a metre of the Mission Creek Greenway will be dedicated by Springfield Funeral Home Ltd. 1-250-860-7077.
