Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Steve Kozak (2012) for 67 years. Loving mother of Barbara Patriquin (Michael) and Andy Kozak (Nancy Brunetta). Special mother-in-law of Sophie Kozak. Grandmother of Stephanie Karatsu (Kevin), the late Jamie Cameron (Colleen Bell), Heather Cameron (Johnathan Wallsten), Alison Patriquin, David Patriquin, Emilie Kozak and Steven Kozak. Great grandmother of Cameron, Miya and Erin Karatsu, Makenna and Jak Cameron and Preston, Milo and Michael Gamble. Predeceased by brother Jack MacDonald and sister-in-law Madeline MacDonald. Jean will be fondly remembered by her brother Jim MacDonald, sister-in-law Kay Dool and her many nieces and nephews.
Jean was always happiest at home hearing stories and seeing pictures of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a knitter and avid reader who kept current with politics, the stock market and the most recent mystery novel. She shared many stories of her life as a young girl growing up on Bruce Hill with her family, skating at the rink and especially her love of dancing. Jean was a long time member of Willowgrove United Church.
A private celebration of Jean’s life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions to ARCH, SAH Foundation or to Willowgrove United Church would be appreciated. A special thanks to the caring staff at Pathways where she lived for the last 2½ years and to the nurses on 3A at SAH who were so supportive during the last few days of her life.
