It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Vaike on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the age of 80.
Born in Tallinn, Estonia, on July 12, 1942, Vaike is predeceased by her parents, Enn and Emilie Eero and her sister, Valli Eero. Vaike is lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Roger Kinghorn, and her daughter Elizabeth Kinghorn and son-in-law Mik Patton. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Grace Kinghorn, sister-in-law Anne Wood, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and her many friends.
She will be remembered as a kind and generous soul who gave freely of her time and resources to the community, and as a great lover of books, an incredible baker, and an avid gardener.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Phil Miller officiating. Interment at St. Luke's columbarium will take place at a later date in the presence of immediate family.
Memorial contributions to the Sault Ste Marie Humane Society would be appreciated.
