June 22, 1937 - January 6, 2024 - Passed away peacefully at Algoma Residential Community Hospice surrounded by her family after a short and hard fought battle with bowel cancer.

Beloved Wife of Edgar "Jack" King for just short of 70 years. Loving and cherished mother of Marilla Mulligan (Roger), Byron King (Arlene), Heather Moore (Jeffery), Douglas King (Donna) and Laura Dobell (Jim). Cherished grandmother of the late Jenny, the late Jeremy, April, Melanie, Bethany, Gregery, Matthew, Shaun, Kory, James, Elizabeth, Emily and Erin. Great-grandmother of 22. Predeceased by her parents Bethel and Myrtle Vine and her siblings Elisabeth "Bette" McKinnon, Wilfred "Bud" Vine, Colleen Seabrook, Jerry Vine and Glenna Weir. Survived by her brother Leslie Vine and her sister Lola King. She will be lovingly remembered by her in-laws, many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and her church family at Pinehill Church of Christ. 

Mom was a hard worker, a tender loving caregiver, always happy to do what she could for others. Mom volunteered for many years at the Soup Kitchen, was a canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society and mom loved to knit and gifted many with warm sweaters, hats, mitts and socks.  

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Sault Area Hospital, Bayshore Health Services and ARCH for their wonderful, tender and loving care of Barbara and her family. A special thank you to Dr. Buehner for her abounding compassion and care.

Friends and family are invited to gather at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1 pm until 3:45 pm, with a memorial service officiated by Christopher Wright at 4 pm. Reception to follow. The public is welcome as well to view the service via webcast by visiting funeraweb.tv and typing in Barbara’s name.  Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. or the Sault Area Hospital Foundation in Barbara's honour would be appreciated.
