Passed away peacefully at ARCH on December 10, 2021 at the young age of 68. Beloved husband of 46 years to Elsi. Loving and proud father of Heidi and Hannu (Meagan). Proud Pappa of two amazing granddaughters, Ava and Tiia, who he absolutely adored. Son of the late Leo and late Anna Keranen. Son in law of the late Pentti and late Alli Hynna. He leaves behind his siblings, late Jarmo (Anna), Juha (Veronica), Marjo (Mike), Sami (Margit), Pasi (Mirja) and Danny (Lisa). Brother in law to the late Tapani (Phyllis) Hynna. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He leaves behind an extended family of relatives in Finland.
He immigrated to Canada in 1969. He faced many hardships in adapting to a new way life and overcoming the language barrier. We swear he was born with a hammer in his hand. There wasn’t a thing Jari couldn’t fix or make. He was a proud carpenter for 50 plus years where he met many good friends along the way.
Thank you to the oncology unit at SAH, Dr. Rassouli and Dr. Beuhner for the excellent care. Thank you to the Bayshore nurses, especially Dawn, for taking such good care of Jari. To the amazing staff at ARCH, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts as we couldn’t have made it through without you.
