The family of Dennis Jones sadly announces his passing at ARCH Hospice on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the age of 69.
Dennis leaves behind his heartbroken wife Donna, his daughter Rebecca Jones of Barrie and his son Michael Jones (Michelle) all of whom he loved unconditionally. He also leaves his three precious grandchildren Leah and Blake Jones and Naomi Daiter of Barrie. Predeceased by both his parents Ownie and Lois Jones and his in-laws Don and Shirley McCrea. Dennis was the grandson of John and Rose Jones and Gordon and Alma Pickard (all late). Loving brother of the late Jennifer Jones (late John Wishart), Susan Chanda (Bob), Terry, John (Gisele) and Brian. Brother-in-law of Barbara Vachon (Marcy), Michele Joseph (Jerry), Rod McCrea (Andrea) and Davina Jones (Scott). Dennis was a special friend and nephew of the late Gordie Pickard and Eddie Pickard. Dennis could always count on his cousin the late Harmon Pickard to lend a helping hand when needed. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dennis was an avid bowler for more four decades. He was also a devoted gardener and enjoyed reading novels. Dennis made the best pastry, apple pies and butter tarts as well as cooking many meals for his family. He was a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and never gave up hope that "this year" was the year that they would win the Stanley Cup.
At Dennis' request, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held in the future. Memorial donations by cheque or online to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
