passed away surrounded by family at the Sudbury Laurentian Hospital on Monday, August 18th 2003 at the ago of 74. Son of the late Clara Piette and Joseph Jolie. Precious husband and best friend of Mary Hotchkiss. Much loved father of Gary Jolie and Kathleen (Case) Merritt. Predeceased by young son Daniel. Also the cherished Dad of Della-Marie Iley, Rob Young and Angelisa Mills. Respected father-in-law of Judy Jolie, Ed Merritt, Tom Iley, Angie Young and Derward Mills. Brother of Valerie Lecuyer, Bernard and predeceased by Hermas, Alcide, Stella Viau, Robert, Levina Genest and Clem. Survived by in laws Solange Jolie, Dean and Kay Hotchkiss, Ruth Peckham, David and Verna Hotchkiss, Elizabeth and Ray Lock, Tim and Beth Hotchkiss and Martha and Dirk Brobbel. Much adored Papa of Sharon and Steve Burns, Jodie and Peter Larsen, Dan and Julie Case, Jennie and Jason Mihailiuk, Jessica Fletcher, Julia Fletcher, Jennifer Jolie, Patty Merritt, Robert McGregor, Deryl Mills, Ryan Gaines, Deralise Mills and Stormy Young. Ever delighted by his great grandchildren Bretton, Kyrsten, Andrew James “AJ”, Mitchell and Morgan Burns, James Fletcher-Mihailiuk, Dylan McGregor-Dale and Ben and Sophie Larsen. Revered uncle of many nieces and nephews. Special friend and uncle to Gaston Jolie. Marcel was a Welder and Steamfitter and for 19 years was the successful Business Manager of Local 508 United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters. Marcel was highly respected by those who knew him and will be missed by his family and friends, church family and his hunting cohorts, Mary and Frank Vanderloo. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, August 22nd from 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be at the Pinehill Church of Christ on Saturday, August 23rd at 11 am. Mr. Roger Lansdell officiating. Interment Laird Cemetery, Echo Bay. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Soup Kitchen Community Centre or to the Pinehill Church of Christ Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
