JOHNSON, Robert Colin “Bob” (1930 – 2024)
In loving memory of Bob Johnson “Grandpa Bob”.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bob, born in Blackville, New Brunswick. Son of the late Walter Johnson and the late Pearl Duncan. Predeceased by his many siblings who mostly resided in New Brunswick: Annabelle, Guila, Alice, Edmund, Wallace, Ruth, Pearl, Marjorie and step siblings Richard and Helen.
Bob was a loving and devoted husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather to many. He passed away in his 93rd year with his loving wife of 67 years of marriage, Helen (nee Chase), by his side on the morning of Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
He was the proud father of Stephen (Joanne), Karen Bouchard (Jimmy) and Kevin (Trina). Loved by all his grandchildren so deeply; Jesse Johnson (Erin), Travis Bouchard (Amanda), Rachelle Mireault (Mike), Alanna Baillargeon-Smith (Luc), Kendra Henderson (Jordan) and Rory-Lee Bos Johnson. Forever remembered and loved by all his great-grandchildren; Jared, Nolan and Tyler Bouchard, Emma Jean and Caleb Mireault, Vaughn Johnson and Indie Rose Farrell, Charlie Jo and Penelope Baillargeon-Smith, Britton, Atticus, Birdie and Goldie Henderson.
Bob was very well known as the “Jack of all trades” and was recognized by the Fire Department for a heroic rescue. He had a passion for cooking and baking pies at 0530am (aka Bobby Crocker), tending to his well-maintained vegetable garden and giant sunflowers. He had a love for fishing, hunting, long morning strolls and was famous for his quick-witted jokes.

“Two weeks ago, I sent my hearing aids in to be repaired....and I haven't heard anything since.”
Bob was a hard-working family man and a great provider with such a big heart. He cared so deeply for all those he loved. He was always so full of love, especially when he spent time with his family and his “favorite grandchildren”. They all mean the world to Nanny and Grandpa Bob.
As we mourn the loss of Bob, we must also celebrate the long, full life he lived. We will forever remember and cherish all the stories he told during his many years growing up. His life was filled with many different experiences; from being raised by his many older sisters, serving in the Air Force, Mining in Sudbury to finishing his career at the local Tube Mill as a Millwright. Bob also volunteered many hours at the Soup Kitchen and played a role in caring for East Korah Maxwell United Church for many years.
As per Bob’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or East Korah Maxwell United Church would be greatly appreciated. “I'll carry on the summer tradition of corn on the cob eating contests with my children. You somehow always managed to win those, even without your teeth in. Heaven gained a finger drumming “deedle-dee-dee, doodle-doo-doo" singing angel, we will miss you dearly.”
“I'll always hold the memories close to my heart of playing and snacking in his beautiful garden (secretly), rock climbing the chimney and the many, many swims at camp. I hope he is up there driving a red Grand Am Convertible because he always told me I should get one.”
