JIN SEE SUEN (Jimmy) 1932-2003 - surrounded by his family at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jimmy led a full and active family life. He and his father Yen Dat Ching better known as Jimmy Sr. ran Abitibi?s (St. Mary's Paper) canteen for many years (1928-1965). Following Jimmy Sr.'s retirement, Jimmy began working at the paper mill in 1965 until his retirement in 1997 after 32 years of service. Jimmy is survived by his wife and best friend of 50 years, Sumay Jin. A vibrant and loving father to his ten children and their spouses: the eldest son Moon, Doris and husband Johnny Ekonomakis (Brampton), Peter (Oakville), Susan and spouse Robin Carter (Toronto), Andrew (Toronto), Penny and husband, George Krmpotic (Calgary), Kathy, Timmy, Jennifer (Ottawa) and Wendy Melissa Jin Suen all of Sault Ste. Marie. Adoring grandfather to Edward and Olivia Carter, Candice, Alannah and Erica Ekonomakis as well as Jacob and Christian Krmpotic. Always kind, warm and welcoming and interested in the lives and achievements of those around him, Jimmy naturally drew people to him with his optimism making people feel loved and valued. He cherished every moment of life, from cooking family meals to his trips to Toronto's Chinatown, to the boy's night out and working with people he enjoyed. He quietly touched so many lives and left and imprint of love. He was the bravest of souls when faced with life's adversities and in character, brave until the end. Friends will be received at the Barton and Kiteley Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 165 Brock Street on Friday, July 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Barton and Kiteley Funeral Home and Cremation Centre with The Rev.
