JARVIS, Marybelle

Posted

Passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 from complications from Parkinson's disease. Marybelle was the beloved wife of Bill (predeceased 1986) and the dear mother of Alan (Marlene), Rick (Barb Warwick), Suzan Breton (Paul), Barb (Don Humphries) and Tracy Jarvis-Jacques (Raymond). She was the loved Nana of Lauren (Travis), Matt (Catriona), Aimee (Matt), Tricia, Jess, Katie, Jack, James, Cooper, Renee, Stephane, Michelle and Ben (predeceased) and great-grandmother of Kellan, Mia and Addison. Marybelle will be very missed by her many close friends and her surviving sister Paddy McRae. Marybelle was born in Port Arthur in 1925 to Cecelia and Eino Pudas and raised during the Depression. While working in Geraldton, she met and married Bill, a mining engineer and the love of her life. They moved to Wawa in January 1949 where they lived in a tent at a mining exploration site for their first summer together. They raised their five children in Wawa, made many dear and lifelong friends and built their cottage on Kabenung Lake. In 1965, the family moved to Sault Ste. Marie. Marybelle became the librarian at Sault College's nursing school. She and Bill built their dream home in 1977, and she lived there until her health and mobility declined two years ago. After Bill's death in 1986, Marybelle continued living life to the fullest - skating, biking, cross-country skiing, walking, volunteering in the community and traveling the world. Life is the journey between birth and death - Marybelle had a great journey. A new one has begun. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 11 am until time of service in the chapel at 12 noon. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Interment will take place in Thunder Bay in September. Memorial contributions to the Parkinson Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
