JANZEN, Abram (Abe) – went peacefully to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, May 12, 2024 in his 99th year. 

‘Well done, good and faithful servant! Matthew 25:23

Abe follows his beloved wife of 62 years, the late Shirley Scott Janzen who he loved dearly. Loving father of Cathy Toni (Glenn), Carol Campbell (Brian), Tim (Stephanie), Tom (Carolyn), Linda Janzen, Ruth Thompson (Marshall), Rachel Schaefer and Grace Lobert (Peter). Beloved grandfather of Allison McFarlane (Tim), Andrew Toni, James Campbell (Pauline), Esther Molinari (Marco), Brooke Langstaff (Wayne), Bethany McKenna (McShane), Noah Janzen, Lee Janzen, Cameron Janzen, Austin Janzen, Elise Janzen, late Jennifer Janzen, Becky Chiarot (Richard), Caitlin Wheeler, Jessica Thompson (Kyle),  Kayla Thompson, Jenna Thompson, late Zachary Thompson, Josiah Thompson (Joni), David Schaefer (Casey), Alex Schaefer, Aaron Schaefer (Kate), late Moriah Lobert, Lynnea Lobert, Marrisa Lobert, and Carter Lobert. Cherished  Big Papa of Nolan, Alexis, late Elayna, Spencer, Kai, Aleksander, Eli, Rhett, June, Landon, Anneliese, Maddox, Aria, Leo, Logan, and Evangeline. Brother-in-law of Neville Greenup. Loved uncle by many nieces and nephews.

His entire life was dedicated to serving the Lord and witnessing to all those that he met. Abe served the Lord many years through ministry in Blind River, Spragge, Temagami, Aurora, and Desbarats. He was ordained with the Associated Gospel Church and served many years with the Bible Christian Union and Shantyman Christian Association. 

Abe enjoyed his woodworking, writing his yearly newsletters and daily handwritten letters to friends and family.  

Special thanks to his amazing care givers, the best home-care nurse Nina, Melanie, Dr Buehner, Birgit Jones, Suzanne, Catherine  and Michelle Barsanti, who cared for him with such love and devotion. Donna, Abby, Amanda, Roshan, Crystal, Zyra, Emily and others, thank you for making him feel so much love in his final days. Thank you to Dr Sarah White for her compassion. “God Bless”.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 6 pm to 8 pm, and at Bethany Baptist Church on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 10 am to 11 am with a funeral service to follow, officiated by Craig Buckner and Dan Gabor.
