Surrounded by his family, in his 51st year, we are heartbroken to announce the passing of James Peter Taraschuk on November 5th , 2011 at TBRHSC in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Jim will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his spouse Sherry Lees and her children Jared and Jordinne, his son Tyler, his mother Evelyn, brothers, Stevie (Pauline), Mike Gardiner, sisters, Mary-ann Briglio, Gail Taraschuk, Stephanie (Darryl) Morin, Uncle Ed, and many nieces and nephews. Jim has joined his family in heaven, father Steve, brothers, Brian, Willie, Mikey and sister Linda Bloye. Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Jim resided for the past 8years in Thunder Bay operating a landscaping/general services business. He was known as the “hardest working man in the neighbourhood.” A good natured, life of the party guy who leaves so many of us with a legacy of his music and song that touched so many hearts. “I would have missed the pain but I’d’ve had to miss the Dance.” Funeral services will take place Tuesday, November 8th, at Jenkens Funeral Home with visitation between 6-7pm followed by a reception from 7-8:30pm. Cremation will take place. A memorial service with interment at the Greenwood Cemetary in Sault Ste. Marie will be held at a later date to be announced.
