(1929 - 2023)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Evio "Jock" Innocente at the F.J. Davey Home on Friday, June 23, 2023.

Cherished husband of the late Patricia Innocente. Loving father of John Innocente (Pam) and Mary Anne Christenson (Ken). Supportive grandfather of Trevor Lash (Amy) and Tricia Francella (Jon). Great grandpa to Evan and Archer Lash. Dear brother of Velma Yurechuk (late Arthur), Mary Lou Gover (late Tony), late Reno (late Geri) and the late Albert, brother-in-law of the late Tommy Running (late Helen), Lois Odber (Roy), the late Ron Erdman, the late John Erdman (Susan), the late Gary Erdman, the late Beverly Jeffries (Michael) and Dorothy Lauzon.

Jock was a very hard-working, meticulous, detail-oriented person who never did anything haphazardly. He was always willing to share his incredible knowledge and lend a hand to his loved ones. He was most in his element while spending time in his vegetable garden, where he would spend hours upon hours conscientiously and lovingly perfecting his plants and sharing the fruits of his labour with family and friends.

Jock enjoyed music, particularly the violin. It was a skill he refined over the years. Aside from gardening and enjoying music, Jock enjoyed spending downtime relaxing with a glass of wine and a plate of his wife's famous macaroni and meatballs.

Jock was impeccable at recalling the perfect quote, saying, or joke for any instance. His family warmly referred to these as "Jockisms". His sense of humour and quick wit will be the topic of family conversations for years to come.

Jock's family would like to thank the staff of Cedar Grove 2 at the F.J. Davey Home for all their care and compassion over the past 6 years.

At Jock's request, there will not be a funeral service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society or the F. J. Davey Home Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Innocente family.
