On February 24, 2021, at the age of 92 after living with dementia for many years, Al peacefully reunited with the love of his life, Carrie.

Alan Hugill (Torchy) was predeceased by his wife and best friend Carrie, son David and sister “Splinter”. He leaves behind his daughter Diane Lajambe and grandchildren Angela, Michael and Vanessa (Louie). He was blessed with four great-grandchildren; Kalam, Preston, Sage and Nico. Al’s early career as pilot with the Department of Lands and Forest brought him so much joy. He later retired from Algoma Steel and enjoyed his retirement years at his favourite place on earth, Batchawana Bay. The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff of Tunnel Lake at Mapleview, especially Trina and Nicole for their constant care and compassion towards Al. At Al’s request, there will be no service. Family will celebrate Al’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations (by cheque or online) to ARCH. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522). Please visit the Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave memories and condolences as a keepsake for the family.

As Al would say, Cheerio!
