HUCKSON, Robert Wilfred “Bob”

Passed away peacefully at the Mauno Kaihia Koti Nursing Home on April 10th, 2024, in his 96th year.  Beloved husband of Eva.

Cherished by his family: Michael Huckson (late Ray Johnson), Terry Huckson (Katherine), Janice Kamzol (Anthony), Marta Oliver (John), Bill Howe (Beth), Garry Howe (Lil). Dear grandfather of thirteen and great grandfather of fourteen.

Bob was born in Sault Ste Marie on June 9th, 1928. Dear son of the late Bert and Frances Huckson and the brother of the late Betty Halladay.

Bob was an avid curler and a huge fan of the Sault Greyhounds.  He enjoyed watching all sports cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays.  He also watched Soccer and curling.  Squirrel Island was a place very special to Bob. He enjoyed great friends and many games of horseshoes, the 4 o’clock cocktail hour, and his friends and their children lovingly referred to him as “cool Bob” for his easy-going personality and kind heart.

A special Thanks to the staff of the Mauno Kaihia Koti Nursing Home (Ontario Finnish Rest Home) for the wonderful care they provided.

Bob will be missed by all those that knew him.

Cremation has taken place. A private celebration for Bob will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in conjunction with the Celebration of Life for his sister Betty, On April 23, 2024. In memory of Bob, donations to a charity of choice, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Local District Humane Society (Bob loved Dogs) would be appreciated by the family.
