It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Orval Hotchkiss ‘Poppy’ on December 5th, 2021, at the F.J. Davey Home in his 88th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Donna Abel (Dale) and is the cherished father of Garnet Abel (Jane), Carmen Abel, Karen Abel-Kay (James) and Laurie Tromley (Ron). Orval was predeceased by his granddaughter Kristy Lariviere (Albert), son Donald Abel and daughter Shirley Vickers(Abel). Proud grandfather of Sheri Pereira (Carlos), Robert Batenchuk (Shelly), Michael Batenchuk, Lindsay Vickers, Garnet Abel Jr. (Farrah), Betty Depape (Darwin), Samantha Dyck (Bryan), Paul Rancourt, Delray Abel, Jake Abel, Katelin Burley (Eric), Karrie Kay (Brandon), Sabrina Duguay (Dustin) and Nick Tromley. Great Grandfather of 24 and Great Great Grandfather of 2. Predeceased by his parents George and Ida Pearl Hotchkiss. Orval will be greatly missed by extended family and friends.
