April 7, 1943 – October 6, 2020

With heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of Cathy, surrounded by the love of her life husband Chuck, much loved momma of daughter Bobbi Jo (Vern), special Nana to her granddaughter Kia-Lee 'Moochie' and grandson Calem 'Dude' (Misty). Proud and special Gigi to Chloe, Carter and Aaron.
Mom will be greatly missed by her fur babies Daisy, Mojo, Pippa and Ming and was also Nana to fur babies Duke, Abby and Mikka.

Cathy was the youngest daughter of George and Lillian (Schryer) Deevey (late). Daughter-in-law of Anna-Mae and Dolph Mayer (late). Mother of Cheri (Dennis), Troy (Rhonda), Kim (Jim), Nana of Christopher, Brittany (Peter), Aaron and Meghan.

Loved little sister of Winnie (late Harry), Edward (late Marg), Phyllis and sister-in-law of Greta (late Floyd). “Thelma and Louise” are back together. Meeting her on her next adventure is big sister Alecta (late) and brother-in-law Bert (late) as well as brother Philip (late), sister-in-law Mary (late) and infant brother Richard.

Sister-in-law of Syl (late Pat), Bert (late Gloria), George (late Fran), Alona (Glen), Colleen (Mike), Sonny (late) and Billy (Janet).

Aunt Cathy to many nieces and nephews and a special Auntie Cathleen to Bonnie. Thank you to niece Patti for your guidance.

Cathy and Chuck celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary on September 23rd.  Mom was fiesty, stubborn and very opinionated, she loved with all 4'9” of her.  She did not like to be told the she could not do something because she would prove you wrong.

Cathy will be missed by the Carpin Beach family of friends.  Many thanks to the Health Care Team at the Sault Area Hospital especially Dr. Sarah White, Dr. Ladack and Dr. Costin for your compassion, as well as Dr. Fera at the Group Health Centre.  The nursing staff on 3C thank you for making mom comfortable (Brett, Paulette and Sarah).  Thank you to Father BJ (Holy Family Parish) for being there as a friend and on a moments notice.  Karen Petingalo, you were there for Mom when we couldn't be and we sincerely appreciate your soft hand, thank you.  

At Mom's request, there will be no visitation.  A private family gathering at a later date.  If you wish, Memorial donations (payable by cheque or on line) can be made to Holy Family Parish or the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).
