HILL, Maureen (Burch)

Posted

February 17, 1952 - May 23, 2006. I rejoice that my loved one and I had some time together. I am grateful as well as grief-stricken. Love always, Larry. Born to Maurice and Audrey Burch, Maureen had fond memories of growing up in Sault Ste. Marie with her three brothers, Larry (Anne), Pat (Ruth), and Steve [deceased 1990] (Wendy). Maureen lovingly touched many young lives as a primary grade teacher in Thessalon and Goulais River. With her beautiful smile and approachable style, Maureen was blessed with encounters throughout her life with peers, students, and parents from her teaching career. In Spring of 1976 love was in the air. Accepting the offer of a night of dancing turned into a 30 year journey of acceptance, love, and joy between Maureen Burch and Larry Hill. August 26, 1977 was the start of their life blessed by marriage. Children Rebecca and Gregory were Maureen's greatest treasures and received her loving warmth, support, and guidance. Medical challenges were a part of Maureen's life for many years. These were never evident in the way she enjoyed her life and the people around her. We will be celebrating Maureen's kind loving spirit and grieving the loss of her physical touch at a Memorial Service being held at St. Andrews United Church (712 Wellington Street East, Sault Ste. Marie - wheelchair accessible) on Friday, May 26, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Mrs. Janet Norman officiating. Fellowship and life memories will follow this celebration of a life. Deserts and refreshments will be served by her friends and church family from Goulais River United Church. Memorial donations made to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (A.R.C.H.) would be appreciated by the family.
