Rose Anne Hilderley slipped away peacefully, in the arms of her only son, Russ (wife Kitty), Friday May 7, 2010, at the young age of 100 years, minus 5 months. Survived by her beloved Granddaughter Tracey Lynne Hilderley (Steve Cardiff), Grandsons Steve Hilderley (Brenda), and Scott Hilderley (Theresa), of Sooke BC, and Great Grandsons, Brock Hilderley of the Sault, and Owen Hilderley of Sooke, BC, and Great Granddaughters Alexia Rose Cardiff, Kayla Hilderley of the Sault, and Megan Hilderley of Sooke, BC. Nieces Rose Laberge (late Fred) of Goulais, Betty Robertson (Hap) of Bruce Mines, and Pat Raycroft of Sault Ste. Marie, Claranne Dipietro (Tony) of Gibsons BC, Judy Lott (late Jack) of New Westminster, BC, and Nephew Rick Hilderley, of Roberts Creek, BC, Nieces Esther Wilcox (Howie) Sault Ste. Marie, Agatha (Holmes) Papadopoulos, and Patricia Holmes of Detroit Michigan, Nephews Sid Hilderley Jr. (Diane) of Sault Ste. Marie, and the late Warren Bailey (Eileen), and the late Harold Bailey (Doreen), David Gledhill (Loretta), all of Sault Ste. Marie, Steven, Harry, and Randall Coakley of California, Margaret and Joanne (Shanks) SC. Predeceased 36 yrs. ago, by her husband Wm. L. (Bill) Hilderley and her parents, the late Joseph and Elizabeth Trudel. Sister of the late Arthur Trudel (late Pearl), and the late Clara Erdman (late Web). Sister-in-law of the late Annie Bailey-Allard), the late Madge Shanks (late Gordon) of California, the late Olive Coakley (late Steve) of Illinois, late Sid Hilderley (late Iva), late David Hilderley (late Mary), late Cora Gledhill (late Herb), late Ada Holmes (late Ernie) of Sault Ste. Marie. Rose was Godmother to Diane Gapp (Smith) Sault Ste. Marie, and Donna MacDonald (Smith) of Winston-Salem, NC. Special thanks to the entire staff at the Ontario Finnish Rest Home’s Mauno Kaihla Koti, and in particular Jackie (Bailey) Reid, whose tender and loving care for her “Auntie Rose” these past two years, brought such happiness. Also thanks to Heidi, another caring staff member and her “gambling” partner… and Jason Hunter, a gentle giant, with a heart to match. She will also be sadly missed by Inez Lehto, longtime neighboor, and dear friend. At Rose’ request, there will be no service or visitation.
