Surrounded by his family, Murray passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer.

Dad will be lovingly remembered by his sons; Mike (Catherine), Mark (Tammy), and Myles (Shelley). He loved and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Brandon (Amanda), Taylor (Caleb), (late Megan), Steven, Morgan, Hailey, Daniel, Mitchell, Tyler and his great-grandchildren, Kaden, Jack and Ayla who gave much delight. Murray will also be remembered and missed by Audrey's family; Shelly Pascal (Bill), Sarah Dewar (Scott) and Audrey’s grandchildren Natalie, Katrina and Gordon.

Murray had a love of family.  He had a special relationship with each of his boys and their families.  When there was a gathering, Dad always wore a smile and joy in his eyes. He was quick to share photo and video compilations after each event.  He was known by many for his sense of humour.  Murray was a most kind, positive and uplifting gentleman.  As a father or a friend, he was a man who was always present to lend an ear, offer his best advice but whatever it was, it was always fair, always accurate, always respectful and always honest.

Murray was a very well respected member of the community.  An avid and dedicated volunteer with Sault Recreational Hockey Association for several decades.  He was not only a coach but a positive role model for many young boys throughout his coaching career.  Murray had such patience, that he didn’t mind sacrificing a win to teach a life lesson.

Murray was very detailed in whatever he tackled, that, with his passion for numbers and facts served him well in his engineering career of 55 years with S.D. Adams and China Steel.

It is certain that Murray has left an imprint on the hearts of many friends and family and will surely be remembered fondly.

Friends and family who wish to celebrate Murray’s life are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, April 7th at 11:30 a.m. at Willowgrove United Church followed by a Come and Go Celebration of Life in the Fellowship Hall.  Rev. Hati and Rev. Bruce McLeish officiating.
