David Hautanen

It with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our brother David on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 60 with his loving family by his side.

David has gone to be reunited with his parents Ralf Hautanen Sr. and Irene Hautanen (nee Disano) and the late Ralph Jr.  Loving brother of Heather Swift (Guy), Shelley Hautanen, Sherry Bridge (Danny), Eric Hautanen (Theresa) and Mark Hautanen (Lindsay).  Special Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

David had a huge heart full of love for his family which was so important to him.  He loved animals and was always asking us to help the cats and dogs at the humane society.  Christmas was his favourite holiday and enjoyed the time spent with his family.  He loved listening to his music channel and watching Forensic Files and horror movies.  He was a great fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and wrestling being one of his favourite television shows.  A phone call from David often asking for his favourite treats being chocolate bars, pepsi and bags of chips is a memory his family will always cherish.  David truly enjoyed his evening rides with his best "buddy" and brother-in-law Guy Swift making a stop at the casino on his way home.

A heartfelt thank-you to all the staff at Extendicare Van Daele Manor for making the last few years of David's life complete.  A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the SAH for making David feel as comfortable and peaceful as possible during his last moments.

A private family graveside service will take place.  Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the SSM Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522).  Please visit Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave a message of condolence or a memory as a keepsake for David's family.

David will be forever in our hearts.
Heaven has gained another Angel.
RIP David, Until we meet again.
