Maxwell Kerr Harper, the greatest man, and most loving father of Stacy Anne Harper, passed away peacefully, into God’s caring arms on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
Adored Grandpa-Max of Harmony Anne, Annastasia Mary and Bubba. “Always & Ever!”
Son of the late Ruby and Bill Harper. Reunited with his siblings the late Forst, late Walter (Nancy), late Arlyne Erdman, late Nora Boland (late Fred). Missed immensely by his sister, Pauline Costello (Vern), thank you for all the time you spent together. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews especially, Bill and Deb for their constant love and support.
Back in the day, Maxwell was the greatest hockey player around and loved any opportunity to scrap on the ice. Everyone who played with him, knew to stay out of his way! When his days of playing hockey were over, Maxwell settled for being a dedicated fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, rarely missing a game.
One year, he was awarded the best dressed man in Sault Ste. Marie, and he made sure everyone knew it!
He was a lover of many hobbies, singing and dancing especially. Whether it was singing at the top of his lungs to his favourite artist, Frank Sinatra and living by the moto “I did it my way” or being the first one on the dance floor with his niece Debbie. Thank you so much Debbie, for always being his dancing partner.
Maxwell was a kind yet feisty man, always attentive to the needs of his family and friends even when they didn’t realize it. He was also a selfless man, willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.
Making those around him smile and laugh was a superpower of Maxwell’s. He always had a good joke to tell and brought so much laughter to those who knew him. Family was important to Maxwell; his daughter was the light of his life and his best friend. He has touched the lives of so many and has left an imprint on all our hearts, he will be missed.
