(December 5, 1931 – October 20, 2019) - Sheila died peacefully, in her 88th year at Mapleview Long Term Care, Sault Ste. Marie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred James and Evelyn Hollingsworth, her husband Robert Ian Hamilton and her son Douglas Ian Hamilton. She was a loving sister of Diane Swanson of Sault Ste Marie, and is survived by her children Leslie Ruth Hamilton-Navarro (Lloyd Navarro) of Pinehurst, North Carolina and Holly-Bruce Hamilton (Yvonne Devantier) of Deep River, Ontario. She was the cherished Gramma of Megan Asta Lorraine Hamilton (Adam Maybee) and Robert Douglas Hamilton. She was a dedicated volunteer of the Sault Ste. Marie hospital gift shop for over 30 years and loved playing cards and games with her family and friends. Sheila was a superstar Gramma, who could always be counted on to play silly games and provide homemade treats for the grandkids when they visited. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Mapleview Long Term Care for their generous and heartfelt help in looking out for Sheila. Cremation has taken place, interment will be at the family plot in Sault Ste. Marie and a private family ceremony will take place at a later date.
