2022-01-03 HAMILTON Kenneth

Out of extreme caution due to a high risk Covid exposure we have decided to cancel todays wake and service. We will evaluate doing this properly and safely at a later time. Our apologies if we could not contact you directly before this post.

Ken passed away peacefully after a short but valiant battle with cancer on January 2, 2022, at the Sault Area Hospital.  Dear husband to Carmel Ann for over 53 years.  Beloved father to Susan (Paul Beach), Kari (Jason Harman) and Katie.  Proud grandfather to Laura, Jessica, Jenna, Summer and Star (Noah) and great grandfather to his precious Levi!  He was born on May 29, 1945, in Indio, California to Merle and Clois and shared his early years with his brothers the late Ronnie (Freda), Donnie (Lynda) and Dennis (Shelley).

Ken served 7 years in the United States Air Force as an Electronics Technician, meeting Carmel while stationed in Kincheloe.    His wife and family meant everything to Ken and Ken meant the world to his us.  He was the cherished son-in-law to the late Mario (Fatty) and the late Sue DiPasquale.  Brother-in-law to the late Ray (Dawn) and Kenny (Kaaren).   Much beloved ‘Uncle Ken’ to many nieces and nephews and to all those children attending Carm’s daycare over 40+ years – who also became part of our family.

Ken was always involved in some kind of sport – tennis, bowling, baseball, curling and his eventual passion was the game of golf.  He also never missed an important game that any family member was participating in.  He was a volunteer extraordinaire with countless hours dedicated to Sault Minor Baseball and the St. Basil’s Basketball Teams.  We always joked about buying him driving gloves as he put so many hours on the road – but, it was on those many trips that friends were made, stories were told and now memories are there to cherish.  Ken was proud of his 38+ year career with the City’s Public Works and Transportation Department - in his later years as the Manager of Traffic and Communications.

Special gratitude to all the doctors – including Dr. Berry, Dr. Bakar, Dr. Reich, Dr. Sharpe, Dr. LaFleur and Dr. Booth and all the healthcare professionals including Laura and Rhonda at the pacemaker clinic, the many nurses including those who provided his end-of-life care (Jenna and Phyllis), the paramedics and PSWs along the way that have cared for Ken.

A donation in his memory to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated (Payable to or online to www.sahfoundation.com ).
