It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of John William Halcrow on December 18, 2023. Born to William and Jeanette Halcrow on December 28, 1964. John tried his best to stay close to home as his life and love could be found within a few favorite country roads and his beloved garage. John will be incredibly missed by his love, Wendy Cripps and his kids Frank Cripps (Melissa), Carly MacLeod (Scott), and Andrea Cripps (Chris Martin). Grandpa to seven amazing grandchildren, Chase Mitchell, Charlie and Bennett Cripps, Haylee Palmer, and Kacey, Wyatt, and Blake Martin. John was a cherished brother to Brenda McPhee (Andy) and Peggy Hannah. Brother-in-law to Barb Armstrong, Jim Beith, Cindy Bowser (Keith), Fred Beith (late June), late David Beith (Brenda), and Debbie Fleming (late Jim). He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews as well as countless extended family members.
With an incredibly generous heart and a knack for lending a helping hand, John has touched the lives of a legion of friends and community members. A lifetime resident of Echo Bay and Laird townships, John’s presence will be missed by many. A celebration of life will occur Friday December 29th from 1-4pm at the Echo Bay Elks Lodge (96 Church St, Echo Bay).
