After a short but courageous battle with cancer we sadly announce the passing of Vera on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at her daughter's home. Vera was three weeks short of her 90th birthday. Predeceased by her husband Edward (Ted), precious son Bruce and parents George and Hilda McKenna. Loving mother of Pat Wright (Mert), Betty Porter (Cliff) and Nancy Booth (Stuart). Special grandma of Brenda Wright, Paul Wright (Leslie), Karen Freeland (Herb), Lisa Porter (Don), Brian Wright, Kerri Porter, Alexandra Booth, Lori Manning (Ryan) and Robert Porter (Brandy). Great grandmother of 13. Dear sister of Betty Thomas (late Sam) and Ray McKenna (late Joyce). Also survived by her nieces and nephews. Vera will be sadly missed by the world's greatest friend Viola Gibson. Friends may call at Christ Church, 585 Allen's Side Road, on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm. Rev. Canon William Stadnyk and Rev. Canon Earl Burke officiating.
