Peacefully at the Van Daele Manor on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Vivian and the late Isobel. Loving father of Don (Connie), Joyce Caputo (Frank) and predeceased by James and infant son Roderick. Proud grandpa to Tricia Wonch (Sean), Christina Caputo (Rob Martel) and Laura Caputo. Great grandfather to Ella Isobel Alison Wonch. Dear brother of Dr. Ian Graham (Suzanne), Janet Webber (Ric) and predeceased by Donald Graham, Allan Graham (late Pat) (late Anne) and Gordon Graham (late Reta). Step father of James Atkinson (Kris), Laura Atkinson (Ulrich Wendt), Richard Atkinson (Mary), Kerrie Atkinson (Peter Lang), Douglas Atkinson (Jane) and Hanali Atkinson (Leo Campeau). Harry will be sadly missed by his 9 step grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, December 14, 2006 from 6 – 9 pm. Funeral service from Central United Church on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 2 pm. Mrs. Joy McPhee officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Central United Church or to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre would be appreciated by the family. First job Ben Richards St. Mary’s Canoes. Later he taught canoeing. A founder of Forestry Program Soo College. In his 70’s he did a 22 km canoe run for St. Mary’s River Celebration. Chosen to lead and succeed to save the Soo Rapids Campaign. Hired for studies of Ecology of St. Mary’s River. Encouraged by father to plant trees. Lifetime total SSM 1990. Harry was instrumental in establishing the Bushplane Museum and served as a director for many years. He was also an active member and elder at Central United Church. “Those who sleep under a quilt, sleep under a blanket of love.”
